10U AA and or AAA

**Please keep in mind that sometimes a division will not make.  Should this happen then you would be moved to another age division, issued a refund, or your player would be able to tryout for the REC division.

All WBSA Select teams will have outdoor field practices on one of the 8 WBSA Fields every  Wednesday nights with an indoor practice on either Tuesday or Thursday night depending on your teams coach. Yes, providing that the parent passes the WBSA back ground check they are welcome to put their hat in the ring to coach a division where they have a child.  However, these parent coaches, as all coaches, will be heavily vetted and not guaranteed a coaching position.  WBSA Select takes hiring coaches very seriously and the coach must have a history of a proven coaching record.  Separately, WBSA provides all coaches with WBSA Select intense training and support to guarantee that WBSA Select players are getting top notch instruction.

Spring Season:

$1500 Total; Can be paid out at $300 per month over 5 months.

Fall Season:

$1200 Total; Can be paid out at $300 per month over 4 months.

WBSA Select teams will play 10 tournaments in the Spring and 6 tournaments in the fall with more in each season possible depending on team appetite and advancement.  Each tournament has a 3 game guarantee with more games available to teams that advance in tournaments. It would not be uncommon for a select team to play 35-50 games in the Spring and 20-30 games in the Fall.

Tournaments that the WBSA Select teams will be signed up for will include NCS, Five Tool, PAC, Small Town Select, IBT, Premier Prospects and Perfect Game.

Tournaments are two day tournaments with two (2) "pool" games played on Saturday and "bracket" games being played on Sunday.

Pool games on Saturday determine the placement of your team for the bracket play on Sunday.   The better your team plays in pool games the easier the road is to the "ship" on Sunday.

Bracket play on Sunday could possibly intel as many as four (4) games depending on how big the tournament is and how far your team advances.  However, lose a game on Sunday and the tournament is over for your team and you go home.

First Games on Saturday could possibly start anywhere from 8am to 4pm. Typically Saturday the pool games with be either back to back or possibly have one game in between.  Sunday is Bracket play and is single elimination.  First game could start as early as 8am and last game could start as late as 6pm. Yes...on tournament weekends you are commuted to baseball and the ball fields pretty much all weekend!

It would be the intention of WBSA to keep all Select teams tournaments within a 50 mile radius of Weatherford.  However, depending on the select team and tournament level desired select teams could find themselves traveling further.  WBSA will be hosting tournaments in Weatherford on the WBSA fields on a few select weekends.

No, once you sign up for a division you are committed to that division for the remainder of that season. However, should one of the WBSA Select teams need a pick up player for a weekend All WBSA registered players would be eligible to pick up.

Yes, both the WBSA Select and the REC seasons will run simultaneously at the same time.

Due to the time commitment that the WBSA Select teams require, we don't recommend signing up for both.  Select and Rec divisions will run simultaneously and there would be a high probability that practices and games would over lap leaving the rec team down players as the Select Team commitments would be priority.

Yes, should your player try out for the select team and not make it, they will still have the opportunity and time to tryout for the rec division as the rec division tryouts happen after the Select Teams have been formed.

Yes, WBSA Select teams will hold tryouts twice a year, every year for every division for any player who wants to try out.  We understand that kids develop at different times and  we welcome players to tryout every season.  WBSA Select strives to place the top players onto the select team in their division. So if your player doesn't make a select team this season they can try out again the following season.

Yes, the "core unit" of the WBSA Select teams will stay together season over season.  This includes the coach's as well.  However, your player is not guaranteed a roster spot every season.  All players must tryout every season in order to have a spot on the team.   Teams are formed with the idea of having the top athletes on the team every season.
