So What's Next And What To Expect?!

Welcome to your new Weatherford Select Baseball or Softball Team!  We know that the process can be complicated or confusing and folks have lots of questions.  The following information is to help give a better understanding of the process and explain what you should expect next.  After you have been selected to a team and you have paid your team dues, you can expect your coach to be setting up a team meeting. 

The following dates are Approximate and every Select Coach will be on his/her own timeline, so these dates could slightly differ.  However, the following is an example of a typical Fall season process. 

• 6/15-7/31 Tryouts:  Open tryouts for players wanting to join a Weatherford Select Baseball or Softball Team.  Tryouts for current WBSA Select players wishing to stay on their current team.

• 7/25-8/2 Final Calls:  Players who have tried out for a Weatherford Select team will be notified in regards to final team rosters.

• Once you are notified that your player has been selected for a Weatherford Select Team you will need to come back to this site and make payment.  Uniforms take time and time is of the essence, so it is important to make one of the three payment options as soon as you are notified that your player has made a roster spot. 

• You will also need to come back to this site to review and sign the required documents in order to play with the Weatherford Select Team.  Those documents can be found by clicking the drop down under "Parents" and clicking on the forms individually.  Those forms are the Release of Liability Form, Photography Release Form and  Player Code of Conduct Form. Please review these forms with your player so that both you and them understand what is expected. There is also a parent Code of Conduct form that should be reviewed, however, this form does not need to be printed or signed.  Lastly, you will need to obtain a copy of your players birth certificate as the tournaments require coaches to have these on hand during tournament play.

• 7/26-8/9 Team Meeting:  At this meeting coach's will be going over everything from uniforms, tournaments, upcoming camps or practices, codes of conduct and everything in between. This is your chance to meet your new family and ask any questions about the upcoming season. (***Have the Release of Liability Form, Photography Release Form and  Player Code of Conduct Form ALL printed and signed along with a copy of your players Birth Certificate ready to turn in at this meeting.  These documents are required***)

• 8/1-8/31 Team Practices & Camps:  These are the approximate dates Where The Elite Teams will be holding any possible team camps and weekly practices leading up to the first Tournament Weekends. Practices will continue after these dates, however practice length  and days may possibly change.  Once tournaments start, you can expect for your Elite Team to practice between 2-3 times per week.

• 8/29-11/15 Tournament Play:  The Select Teams will be playing  4-7 scheduled tournaments with the possibility of playing less or more depending on the type of tournaments and the tournament organizations that are picked to play in.  Some organizations/tournaments are more expensive than others and thus can effect the number of tournaments that a Select team will play.  Furthermore, tournament pricing can vary depending on many factors.  For example, tournaments might be a one day 2 game guarantee, a  two day 3 game guarantee, a  one day 3 game guarantee or even a three day 5 game guarantee.  These variations in tournament fees and organizations picked will determine the actual number of tournaments that a team plays in any given season.  Again all coaches will be in charge of their own schedules, budgets, where, when and what tournaments are entered.  Therefor,  the Schedule and Pricing for each Select team will slightly change depending on factors such as coaches' schedule, tournaments entered, how many tournaments entered, quantity of uniforms, practice uniforms, additional equipment such as bags, helmets, and other cool drip, costs associated with facility needs and so fourth.   However, All team tournaments will be finished the week before the Thanksgiving Holiday.
