So What's Next And What To Expect?!

Welcome to your new Weatherford Elite Baseball or Softball Team!  We know that the process can be complicated or confusing and folks have lots of questions.  The following is to help give a better understanding of the process and explain what you should expect next.  After you have been selected to an Elite Team and you have paid your team dues, you can expect your coach to be setting up a team meeting. 

The following dates are Approximate and every Elite Coach will be on his/her own timeline, so these dates could slightly differ.  However, the following is an example of a typical Fall season process. 

• 6/25-7/31 Tryouts:  Open tryouts for players wanting to join a Weatherford Elite Baseball or Softball Team.  Tryouts for current Elite players wishing to stay on their current team.

• 7/25-8/2 Final Calls:  Players who have tried out for a Weatherford Elite team will be notified in regards to final team rosters.

• Once your are notified that you have been selected for a Weatherford Elite Team you will need to come back to this site and make payment.  Uniforms take time and time is of the essence, so it is important to make one of the three payment options as soon as you are notified that your player has made a roster spot. 

• You will also need to come back to this site to review and sign a few documents in order to play with the Weatherford Elite Team.  Those documents can be found by clicking the drop down under "Parents" and clicking on the forms individually.  Those forms are the Release of Liability Form, Photography Release Form and  Player Code of Conduct Form. Please review these forms with your player so that both you and them understand what is expected. There is also a parent Code of Conduct form that should be reviewed, however, this form does not need to be printed or signed.  Lastly, you will need to obtain a copy of your players birth certificate as the tournaments require coaches to have these on hand during tournament play.

• 8/1-8/10 Team Meeting:  At this meeting coach's will be going over everything from uniforms, tournaments, upcoming camps or practices, codes of conduct and everything in between. This is your chance to meet your new family and ask any questions about the upcoming season. (***Have the Release of Liability Form, Photography Release Form and  Player Code of Conduct Form ALL printed and signed along with a copy of your players Birth Certificate ready to turn in at this meeting.  These documents are required***)

• 8/11-8/31 Team Practices & Camps:  These are the approximate dates Where The Elite Teams will be holding any possible team camps and weekly practices leading up to the first Tournament Weekends. Practices will continue after these dates, however practice length  and days may possibly change.  Once tournaments start, you can expect for your Elite Team to practice between 2-3 times per week.

• 9/1-11/15 Tournament Play:  The Elite Teams will be playing  4-7 scheduled tournaments with the possibility of playing less or more depending on the type of tournaments and the tournament organizations that are picked to play in.  Some organizations/tournaments are more expensive than others and thus can effect the number of tournaments that an Elite team will play.  Furthermore, tournament pricing can vary depending on tournament duration.  For example, tournaments might be a one day 2 game guarantee, a  two day 3 game guarantee, a  one day 3 game guarantee or even a three day 5 game guarantee.  These variations in tournament fees and organizations picked will determine the actual number of tournaments that a team plays in any given season.  Again all coaches will be in charge of their own schedules and where, when and what tournaments are entered, so the schedule for each Elite team will slightly change.   However, All team tournaments will be finished the week before the Thanksgiving Holiday.
